Tad is the son of Opal and Ray Gardner. At 10 years old, he was abandoned in a park in Pine Valley by Ray. Jeff Martin and his girlfriend Mary found him and tried to adpot him but couldnt without the birth parents. So Jeff and Mary gave Tad to Joe and Ruth but growing up, Tad was a rebellious teenager. In the years he straighten up and realized his mistakes. Still living down the moniker of "Tad the Cad," Pine Valley's former playboy has matured into one of its most dependable citizens. Guided by a strong sense of morality and family, Tad's dry humor is his trademark.

Tad arrived at Martin and Devane Investigations with a smirk on his face. This was his first day returning the scene as a Private Investigator and he was in a good mood. His fomer partner Aidan Devane was working for Helena Cassadine, which Tad never understood and felt confused. But he just shrugged it off and moved on without him. Tad opened the door and saw the old office he had and remembered the good times such as solving crimes that involved David Hayward, Adam Chandler, Alexander Cambias and much more. Cases like those weren't easy but it took hard work and dedication for Tad to get where he is today. He put his stuff down as the phone rang as Tad asnwered it. He wondered who it was, the first person to call Tad, maybe it was for a case that the person wanted him to look into.
"Hello?" . Tad was awaiting for the person to speak and as that person did, he began to smile. "Tad? It's your boy Jesse" . Tad was excited but knew what to ask Jesse once he was on the phone. "Did you do it man? " . "Of course I did Tad. No longer am I Cheif Of Police in this town" . Tad hearing the satisfaction in Jesse's voice was a good thing because there were times when Jesse felt that being Cheif Of Police made him feel that he needed to be honest but also times he used family first instead of the law and it almost cost him everything. "That's good. So you on your way?" . "Yes, im on my way. Is it true that Aidan no longer works for you?" . " Unfotuantly yes, now he's working for that evil witch, Helena Cassadine. I dont know what got into him but he's in a better place working for the female version of Satan" . Tad was a bit angry still with Aidan but just forgot about it and moved on to the next thing.
"Have you talked to Angie about your new job with me?" . "Yes I did Tad, she's excited but reminded me that family emergencies comes first" . Tad nodded his head. "I completely understand and with this job working with me as the new PI, you can take any day off to be with your family and friends, just let me know okay?" . "Sure thing dude, thanks for giving this oppurtunity to work alongisde with you man, this will be fun, just you and me together" . "Dont get too comfotable. Im going to get new recurits for this. We need more than the two of us" . Tad and Jesse laughed joking around, it was like going back in their high school days. "How did Angie, Frankie, Cassandra and the rest take your announcement of resigning as Chief Of Police?". "Understanding and normal, not over the top but knew it was my time, and like I said before, family comes first. I just arrived" . "Good, just come in and we'll get settled in the office".Tad and Jesse hanged up.

You and me will lead PV and show the people at the Pine Valley Police Deparment and whoever the new comissioner is, we mean business when it comes to solving crimes and all. We can do this thing Jesse, you and I" . Jesse looks at Tad in amazement because he's never seen Tad in so much excitement about this new project he created time ago. "Dont get your hopes up so much Tad, there will be times when we succeed and times when we go back to the drawing board.......... but like you said, nothing or no one can stop us. Let's do this!" . Jesse and Tad shook hands and a new adventure for the two began. The questions are what will happen? What can we expect? One answer : expect the unexpected.
